Brand Guidelines
Everything you need to represent Soakr correctly. Download assets, reference colors, and follow the usage rules below.
Name
Logo
The Soakr logo is an onsen (hot spring) symbol — three rising steam curves above a pool. It comes in two primary variants.

Clear Space
Maintain a minimum clear space around the logo equal to the height of one steam curve. Never crowd the logo with text, images, or other UI elements.
App Icon
The app icon as it appears on iOS and Android. Use this when referencing the app in store listings, articles, or partner features.
Colors
Our palette draws from the natural world of hot springs — mineral blues, warm earth tones, and organic neutrals. The app and website use complementary palettes optimized for their contexts.

Voice & Tone
How Soakr sounds when it speaks — in the app, on the website, in emails, and on social media.
Knowledgeable, not academic
We know hot springs inside and out — water chemistry, access routes, local etiquette — but we share it like a friend who's been there, not a textbook.
Adventurous, not reckless
We celebrate the thrill of finding a hidden spring, but we always include safety information, access difficulty, and responsible soaking practices.
Warm, not cheesy
The subject is naturally fun — we let it speak for itself without forced enthusiasm or puns.
Inclusive, not exclusive
Hot springs are for everyone. We use accessible language and never gatekeep locations or experiences.
Writing Checklist
- Active voice over passive ("Soakr shows you nearby springs" not "Nearby springs are shown")
- Second person — talk to the user ("your next soak" not "the user's next soak")
- Short sentences. One idea per sentence. Break up walls of text.
- Contractions are fine — "you'll", "it's", "we've". We're not writing a legal brief.
- Specific beats vague ("104°F" not "very hot", "3-mile hike" not "a long hike")
- No emoji in the app UI. Sparingly on social media. Never in documentation.
- Measurements: °F (US audience), miles, feet. Include metric in parentheses for guides.
- Spring types: lowercase ("primitive spring", "commercial resort") unless starting a sentence.
Photography Style
Visual direction for photos used in the app, marketing, and social media.
Natural light
Prefer golden hour, dawn, and dusk shots. Avoid harsh midday light or heavy flash. Capture the atmosphere you'd actually experience.
Show the setting
Include the surrounding landscape — mountains, forest, desert, snow. Context sells the experience. Tight crops of just water are less useful.
Steam and water
Rising steam is our most evocative visual. Show the water's color and clarity — mineral tints, reflections, transparency.
People (optional)
Show genuine relaxation — not posed smiles. Diverse representation matters. Always get consent. Never show children's faces.
No heavy filters
Light editing only. No extreme saturation, HDR halos, or heavy vignettes. If it needs aggressive editing, choose a different photo.
Minimum resolution
1200px on the shortest side for web. 2400px for hero images and print. Always shoot at the highest quality available.
Spacing & Radius
Consistent spacing creates visual rhythm. These values are used across both app and web.
Spacing Scale
| Name | Value | Use |

| xs | 4px | Tight gaps, icon padding |
| sm | 8px | Inline spacing, small gaps |
| md | 12px | Default component padding |
| lg | 16px | Card padding, list gaps |
| xl | 24px | Section gaps, generous padding |
| xxl | 32px | Section spacing |

Border Radius

|---|---|---|
| sm | 6px | Badges, small chips |
| md | 10px | Buttons, inputs |
| lg | 14px | Cards, modals |
