This Privacy Policy explains how Soakr ("the App"), operated by Dustin Wells ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described here.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect financial or payment information
• We do not track your location in the background when the App is closed
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Display nearby hot springs, show your reviews and photos, manage your account
• Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs
• Safety and Moderation: Review user-submitted content for accuracy, safety, and compliance with our Terms
• Push Notifications: Send visit reminders, community activity updates, and other notifications you have opted into. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
• Communication: Send important service-related notifications. We will not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

3. Location Data

The App requests access to your device's location to provide core functionality. Location access is:

• Optional: You can use the App without granting location access
• Foreground only: We only access your location while the App is actively in use
• Not stored permanently: Your precise location is used in real-time and is not stored on our servers

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on Amazon Web Services). We use encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), row-level security policies, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth.

6. Children's Privacy

Soakr is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

You may have the right to access, correct, delete, export your data, or withdraw consent. Contact us at hello [at] soakr.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights including the right to know, delete, opt out, and non-discrimination. We do not sell your data.

10. International Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including:

• Legal basis: We process your data based on consent (account creation, location access) and legitimate interest (app improvement, security)
• Right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data
• Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Right to restrict or object to processing
• Right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing
• Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
