How It Works

Every user has two numbers that track their contributions:

Soakr Score

Your lifetime contribution score — visible on your profile

Only goes up (except clawbacks for removed content)
Determines your level (1–7)
Unlocks new privileges as you progress
Shown on your profile and the leaderboard

Soakr Points

Spendable currency earned alongside your Soakr Score

Goes up and down as you earn and spend
Redeem for merch, booking discounts, day passes
1,000 Soakr Points ≈ $1 USD
Coming soon — not yet visible in the app

Every action awards both Soakr Score and Soakr Points in equal amounts. Spending Soakr Points does not affect your Soakr Score or level.

Verified Bonus: Earned when your photo has GPS EXIF data matching the spring location.

Visit any hot spring at least once per calendar month to build a soak streak. No daily pressure — just consistent engagement with the springs you love.

1/yr Streak Freeze Miss one month without breaking your streak (resets Jan 1)

Springs That Need You

The Wanted Board surfaces hot springs near you that have no reviews or no photos — the places where your contribution has the biggest impact. First reviews earn up to 300 bonus points and first photos earn up to 200 bonus points. Find these high-impact springs on the home screen and the Levels page.

Spring Steward

Every hot spring has one Steward — the person who visits the most. It's simple: submit a review, add a photo, and keep checking in. The more you check in, the stronger your claim. Keep visiting to hold the title.

Check in Every check-in counts. Most check-ins wins.

The review and photo are requirements — you need both to qualify. But check-ins are the only thing that determines who holds the title. Whoever has the most check-ins is the Steward.

Recency Matters

Old check-ins fade over time. The Steward is whoever visits the most right now, not whoever used to visit years ago.

Stop visiting for 3 years and your check-in history fully expires. Someone active will take the title.

How It Looks in the App

On the spring detail page, the Steward tag appears in the top-right corner of the hero photo. Tap it to see the leaderboard. This does not appear on cards in explore or search — only when you're viewing a spring.
